Learn to read music
Short guides to the things every new reader has to learn, in the order Clefsight teaches them. Each one ends with its own drill: play on a MIDI keyboard, or on the keys on screen.
- How to read the treble clef
The treble clef is the upper staff of piano music, mostly your right hand.
- How to read the bass clef
The bass clef is the lower staff of piano music, mostly your left hand.
- How to read ledger lines
When a note is too high or too low for the five lines, it gets short lines of its own, ledger lines.
- How to read intervals by their shape
Good readers don't name every note.
- How to read key signatures and accidentals
