Piano exam pieces in the library
86 pieces in the library are on a piano exam syllabus, set by The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) and ABRSM (the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music). Each is the work the syllabus names, in a public-domain score you can print free, start from an easier version made from the score itself, or play at your MIDI keyboard with every note marked as you learn it.
An exam level is not a level here. A syllabus places a piece by everything an examiner listens for (tone, pedalling, style and a whole programme around it), while a level here measures what the page asks you to read and play. So one piece can sit several levels apart on the two scales, and the table shows where each exam level's pieces fall in the library.
The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM)
The Piano Syllabus, 2022 Edition lists pieces for each level in lists by period and style, and a list of etudes. 77 of them are in the library.

Clefsight isn't connected with The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). These are public-domain scores in the library, not the board's own editions. Read on October 11, 2026 from the Piano Syllabus, 2022 Edition published by The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), and its errata. Each piece is named as the syllabus names it, and listed only when our score is that work and movement as written, not an arrangement or a shortened version.
ABRSM (the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music)
Its lists change every two years, so both the current lists and the next are here: three lists for each grade, A, B and C. 21 of their pieces are in the library, and each grade's page says which syllabus lists each one.

Each piece is named as the syllabus names it, and listed only when our score is that work and movement as written, not an arrangement or a shortened version.
Open a piece to print any of its versions free, or to play it at your MIDI keyboard with every note marked. The syllabus is the word on what an exam accepts: read it, with any corrections, before you enter. Practising the sight-reading part too? Try the exam sight-reading tests.
